Dr Levine has received extensive training over the past five years on the recognition and treatment of sleep breathing disorders. He is a Diplomate with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine . This has involved over 100 hours of continuing education in this field, taking a board exam, and documenting 15 cases that are successfully treated with oral appliance therapy. Dr. Levine has also been trained to treat complex sleep apnea patients with a treatment called combination therapy, involving the use of combing CPAP with Oral Appliance Therapy. This puts Dr.Levine at the forefront of treating his patients with the most recent technology available so that each patient will have the treatment tailored to their specific needs. Dr. Levine recognizes that untreated sleep apnea can be very detrimental to a person’s health due to the high incidence of heart attacks and stroke. His treatments can lead to saving lives with a better quality of life. This is the approach he brings to the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston where he is an assistant professor in the department of General Dentistry and Dental Public Health. Dr. Levine teaches two courses to the predoctoral students in sleep disordered breathing.
